Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to have an MP3 player or pod device to make this work?
A:
Not at all. All you need is a computer and an internet connection. High Speed connections
and ones that are always on work better, but you can get by with dialup.

Q: What are the links on in the CourseCast listing?

A:
Users of podcast software can copy the link and paste it into any podcast receiver to 'subscribe' to each feed.
Once subscribed, the program will download the new recordings as they are added.

Q: I only see code when I click on one of your links. How do I fix this?
A:
Podcast feeds use a programming language called XML that is used by podcasting software to locate
and download programs for you automatically. It is standard practice on many websites to have the
link go directly to the XML code, however some computers don't realize that this means you want to
start a new podcast subscription. That's why you see the code instead. If you copy the address URL
of the page where you see the code and paste it into your podcast software as a new subscription,
you will be able to podcast the program as expected.

Q: Why can't I login to secure CourseCasts?
A:
Access to secure CourseCasts is limited to the students enrolled in that class. UWC students and faculty
will need to login with their full email address and password to gain access to the secure CourseCasts.
